Abandon Perfection

An examination of the role of perfection in relationships, explored through a man and his car.

This film has been a long time in the making. It was created over a 3 month period, 4 locations, 4 days of shooting, weeks of editing, and help from many friends. It has been extremely rewarding to create.

The concept of the film came from of a curiosity of my brother’s relationship with his car. There was a connection that was far deeper and stronger than most relationships with an object. I discovered true connection is formed through abandoning the expectation of perfection and making it a priority to keep growing.

I know I have countless flaws and everyone I know has flaws. If I live my life chasing perfection, I will forever be unhappy.

Cars seem perfect when you buy them new but will inevitably decay, starting with the first scratch. Until the day it is replaced by a different car. Never satisfying.

Acceptance starts the road to contentment and happiness.
